We the People demand an end to corporate interference with government and demand specific legislative and judicial reform be enacted to regualte corporations, resrtict lobbying, and to restore Congress as the representative of the People. We shall enact legislation supporting in full the Bhopal Principles on Corporate Accountability, etc.

We the People demand that Elections be publically financed, that Election Day be a National Holiday, that all blackbox voting be ended, that every vote be made accountable for with a paper trail, and that a Federally Guaranteed Right to Vote shall be passed by Congress, etc.


We the People demand a reversal of the recent deregulation of the media, that the FCC conserve 20% of our airwaves and broadband resources for Public Services, including full campaign coverage of all Local, State, and National elections, support for educational programming such as Public Television, and a return to the truth standard in journalism, etc.

We the People demand that all Government policy-making be open and accessible to the People. No more secret "task forces" unduly influenced by private business, etc.

Morning invocation by Reverend Jessie Jackson.
Speeches. Roll call to Ambassadors.
Seat People's Congress on the Washington Mall for a People's State of the Union Message.

 

 

DAY TWO

Corporate Accountability.

Agenda:


Redefine corporate charters bringing them under democratic control to ensure they function for the public
Restructure the Banking System, Credit card compaines, reinstate Usery Laws.
Tighter restrictions on acquisitions and mergers, broaden constituentcy statutes, limit charters.
The removal of corporate personhood. Corporate taxation. Advertising.
Return to the Bretton-Woods basis for the WTO IMF and World Bank.
Pass the Bhopal Principles on Corporate Accountability.

DAY THREE.

Election Reform.

Agenda:


Federally guaranteed right to the vote. Instant Runoff Elections.
Pass legislation making Election Day a National Holiday. No blackbox voting.
The FCC shall provide adequate resources of our media for all local, state and national elections.
End corporate donations to candidates or parties and gaurantee publicly financed elections.

Media Regulation and Policymaking.

Agenda:


Pass legislation reinstalling the Fairness Doctrine and strengthening the News Distortion Rule.
Reversal of recent media deregulation.
Protection of public spaces and resources. Limit Lobbyist's access to Government.
Address issues at the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs.
No secret task forces.

DAY FIVE

Agenda:

Ambassador's report on People's Congress 2011. Closing speeches.
Declaration of Unity and Committment by the Peoples Congress.
Closing prayer by Reverend Cecil Williams.

 

The assembly forms a figure of a human being (see map) centering congress in the position of the heart.
Omms are chanted, candles are lit for an aerial photoshoot.

 

Members remains peacefully assembled until the U.S.Congress
ratifies mirror legislation passed by the People's Congress.
